LAURENS, S.C. (WSPA) – Two people were arrested on Friday after a first grader reportedly brought marijuana with them to school.
According to the Laurens Police Department, officers were called to EB Morse Elementary School Friday morning after school administrators reportedly discovered an unspecified amount of marijuana in the students possession.
The police department said the child was living at a “known drug house” on Jersey Street, which the department has reportedly raided at least three times in recent years.
A police SWAT team raided the house and police said they found more drugs and paraphernalia inside.
Two people, Steven Antonie Redd, 36, and Avion Miller, 34, were arrested and charged with unlawful conduct towards a child, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said they discovered three other children were also living at the house, have been sent to live with family members while DSS investigates the case.
