DETROIT, MI – A hookah shop has been shut down after investigators discovered the store was allegedly selling marijuana to minors, Detroit police said.
Detroit Hookah Shop, at 4211 E. 7 Mile Road, was shut down on Friday, Feb. 16, following an investigation into unlicensed marijuana sales at the location, police said.
Police said the shop didn’t have a license to sell marijuana at all.
The investigation started after a woman caught someone behind the counter of the store selling marijuana to her 15-year-old grandson, Fox 2 Detroit reported. The woman then contacted police.
During a search on Feb. 14, officers found 11,000 grams of marijuana in the shop along with drinks with THC, the TV station said.
An investigation into the shop remains ongoing.
