LARCHWOOD—A 26-year-old Larchwood man was cited Wednesday, Feb. 14, on charges of second-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The citing of Kaleb Dean Peterson stemmed from a report of a suspicious vehicle with loud music playing and the person behind the wheel possibly passed out about 9:25 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, on the 400 block of Fell Street, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The strong odor of marijuana was detected as the trooper approached the vehicle, which was running.
Peterson said he had been sitting in front of his trailer home since about 7 p.m. listening to music and smoking a small amount of marijuana, according to the incident report.
He said he had a grinder and a pipe with marijuana in it in the front pocket of his sweater. The items were seized.
