Walter Davis Lundy, a former policy adviser to Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp, was arrested early Friday morning after allegedly drunkenly beating his son and sneaking marijuana into the jail.
Lundy, 69, is facing aggravated assault and contraband in a penal institution charges, according to an affidavit in his case.
In 2022, Lundy resigned from his position in Wamp’s office after being arrested and charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana. All charges against Lundy were dropped a couple of months later after state prosecutors decided not to proceed.
A deputy was dispatched to Lundy’s Ooltewah home at 2:08 a.m. Friday after Lundy’s adult son reported an ongoing assault, the affidavit states.
His son allegedly called about his dad assaulting him with a wooden baseball bat while intoxicated.
