(PUEBLO, Colo.) — A new ordinance passed by Pueblo City Council on Monday, March 11, will revert the marijuana excise tax in Pueblo to 10%.
According to a spokesperson with the City of Pueblo, a previous ordinance passed on Dec. 26, 2023 had a sunset clause to reduce the marijuana excise tax from 10% to 0% for three years. However, the ordinance that passed Monday will return the excise tax back to 10%.
The change will go into effect once City Council President Mark Aliff and the newly elected Mayor Of Pueblo, Heather Graham, sign the ordinance. The change is expected to be implemented by the end of the week, March 15.
