SHELDON—An 18-year-old Sheldon resident was arrested about 9:45 p.m. Monday, March 4, on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana and manufacturing, delivering or possessing with intent to manufacture or deliver, a synthetic cannabinoid, a controlled substance — THC wax.
The arrest of Cruz Angel Tamayo-Gonzalez stemmed from the stop of a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe for an equipment violation on Elm Court near Washington Avenue in Sheldon, according to the Sheldon Police Department.
Tamayo-Gonzalez had bloodshot/watery eyes, dilated pupils and body tremors.
A search of his vehicle found THC wax, a THC vaping pen and multiple containers of eye drops.
While talking on the phone, Tamayo-Gonzalez mentioned multiple times he was going to sell the wax to make some cash, according to the incident report.
