PONTOTOC, Miss. (WTVA) — A Georgia man is accused of transporting approximately 150 pounds of marijuana through Pontotoc County.
Pontotoc County sheriff’s deputies, along with the Ecru and Sherman police departments, arrested David Boykin, 42, on Sunday morning, Jan. 7, according to the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department.
This happened after officers stopped Boykin’s rental SUV.
Pontotoc County Sheriff Leo Mask said officers confiscated approximately 140 bags of marijuana. He estimates the amount to be worth $250,000 to $300,000.
The sheriff described the bust as one of the largest in the county.
Investigators charged Boykin with trafficking a controlled substance.
